Brunox EPOXY solution - anti-rust stopper and primer
Description
THE EASIEST AND FASTEST METHOD TO REMOVE RUST, PATENTED IN SWITZERLAND
System invented and patented by Brunox® AG Switzerland - anti-corrosion and priming in one product! The world's first rust-stopping and epoxy resin priming system in one product (according to the manufacturer). THE ORIGINAL in a spray can or in cans with brushable solution - choose the most advantageous option for you. Developed for industry, mechanics and ambitious craftsmen.
It is applied depending on the chosen container by spray, brush or roller, and for industrial use it is sprayed with a gun or airless devices. The most practical and used is the Spray version, with very easy spraying for any user.
The epoxy resin-based substance forms a chemical complex with the neutralized rust. The compact and resistant black layer thus formed ensures long-term anti-corrosive protection. This layer is compatible with any type of metal paint.
Designed in Swiss
Brunox® Epoxy® is used especially for the restoration of cars (including vintage ones), steel beams, any type of iron construction, gates, pipes and construction machinery, etc. In auto body shops, Brunox Epoxy is the craftsmen's best friend, because it not only offers an increase in quality (by increasing durability and reducing the likelihood of early rust reappearance), but also contributes greatly to reducing effort, working time, and related labor, thus being the best investment for this field now that labor costs have become very important!
Effect: Rust is neutralized. BRUNOX® EPOXY® forms a complex metal-organic layer with iron and rust. The compact and durable black protective layer provides long-term corrosion protection and is at the same time, thanks to the epoxy resin enrichment, a primer.
Tip: For even better results, increased durability, covered imperfections and - especially - reduced paint consumption, after using Brunox Epoxy, it is recommended to apply the primer solution: Brunox 1-K Filler Spray.
USE/APPLICATION Brunox Epoxy:
– remove rust dust, loose rust or paint, grease or dirt with a wire brush, abrasive paper, sander, etc. Rust removal must be carried out in accordance with DIN 55928 part 4, cleanliness grade ST 2 or, if necessary, in accordance with SA 2 1/2. Scale and rust may only be visible as a slight tint due to the shading of the pores.
– apply 2 (or more if applied with Spray) layers of BRUNOX® Epoxy and let it dry (approximately 24 hours, depending on humidity conditions, temperature and thickness of the applied layer, see “drying time” below). Between the two layers, wait a maximum of 2 hours (brush application) or 30-40 minutes (spray application).
– paint can be applied

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION:

Country of origin: Switzerland
Range: Brunox Epoxy - anti-corrosion treatment and protection
Area of use: Wherever rust accumulates in iron and steel - indoors and outdoors. Not suitable for application under water or on wet surfaces.
Effect: Neutralization of rust and creation - in contact with it - of a black protective film. Black coloring is only obtained if the surface has rust or traces of rust (otherwise the film remains transparent, with a very slight yellowish tint)
Application temperature: ideal ambient temperature 20°C / Do not use the spray below 10°C / Brushing, industrial use: do not use below 10° C.
Application environment: Dry and clean. Do not apply on wet surfaces and in conditions of rain, dew or condensation! In case of indoor application, ensure ventilation of the space.
Drying time: up to 24 hours / up to 2 hours, accelerated with hot air for 10 minutes at 180°C, but only after applying the final layer
Cleaning: The brush can be cleaned immediately after use with soap and water; later with a brush cleaning solution / universal thinner. Spray guns and airless pumps can be cleaned with acetone, which can be reused for subsequent dilution.
Storage: Unlimited storage time at room temperature in sealed containers for canister containers / Protect from sunlight and temperatures above 50°C for SPRAY containers. CAUTION - SPRAY MAY EXPLODE if exposed to prolonged sunlight or high temperatures! Perfect sprayability for 3 years for Sprays.
Hazardous substances: Does not contain heavy metals (lead, zinc, chromium). Does not contain aggressive mineral acids.
Protective measures during application: The usual protective measures will be applied when applying any varnishes or paints: avoid contact with eyes and skin, do not inhale vapors. Filter masks, nitrile gloves, NBR, BR, safety glasses can be used.
Color: clear amber-colored solution. In contact with rust, it turns into a BLACK layer
Recommended coating thickness: at least 40-50 μm layer thickness: (Brushing = 2 layers; Spray container = 3-4 layers)
Average consumption: about 60 g/m2 per layer / covering power approx. 15 m2/liter for one coat
Dilution: maximum 8% with acetone (only for brushable version, in can)
Heat resistance: 180° C for 10 minutes, permanent max. 80° C
Drying time (until dust no longer adheres): approximately 1-2 hours at 20°C and dry air
Hardening time: approximately 24 hours at 20°C and dry air
Further processing: Paint is applied directly over Brunox Epoxy, possibly a layer of filler/primer (we recommend Brunox 1K-Filler). DO NOT wash, DO NOT sand, DO NOT apply primer, DO NOT clean the surface with silicone-based solutions after application!
pH value: 4 - 4.5 (at 20°C)
Density: 0.99 ± 0.02 g/cm3 solution / Spray = 0.9 g/cm3 (DIN 53785) at 20°C
Packaging options: 150ml spray / 400ml spray / 1 litre can / 5 litre can (prices and availability vary; the displayed price is automatically updated depending on the variant chosen)
