Submersible air compressed lamp Wolf ATEX Turbolite
Description
Wolf Turbolite (UK) air lamps provide illumination for blasting, cleaning and coating of tanks and vessels, oil tanks and pipelines and structural engineering activities, offering a safer alternative to mains and low voltage lighting where explosive atmospheres pose a serious risk to operators. Variants in this range include: Bay - provides a high level of general illumination, and Flood - has a matt reflector providing a wide angle diffused beam. Available in aluminium (A) or brass (B), suitable for use in gas mines, all lamps are nickel plated to protect against corrosion and are supplied with a safety clamp and hook.
The ATEX Turbolite is powered, purged, pressurized and cooled with compressed air controlled by an integrated regulator, which passes through the lamp head and drives the turbine wheel via three nozzle plates. The turbine drives a rotor, generating the 24 volt AC electrical source that powers the 250 watt halogen bulb. Major improvements over other models include sealed bearings, refined regulator, greater use of stainless steel components, bulb life extension device, and particulate filter muffler.
Special conditions of use, according to certification: clean and dry compressed air and antistatic air hose to minimize contamination inside the lamp and the dangerous accumulation of static electricity. A “remote exhaust” must be used to exhaust the air to a safe area. Available accessories include antistatic hoses, filters and holders, tripods, adjustment and testing devices.
Available in four variants (choose the desired variant when ordering; price differs depending on the variant)

Once pressurized it can be used underwater. When using underwater, always turn on the lamp before diving and ensure that the lamp is working until it is removed from the water. An additional accessory can be fitted allowing an exhaust hose to be fitted, either to bring the exhaust air away from the lamps or through the pipe to the surface. Depth limitations of use must be taken into account in relation to water pressure. | |||
