Description

The Drop-n-Tell® Impact or Shock Indicator will indicate whether your package or equipment to which this indicator has been applied has been dropped/slammed or not. Once the package has suffered a shock exceeding the specified force (G-force range), 2 black arrows appear on the device. Drop-n-Tell® acts as a preventive signaling device, alerting shippers and handlers that this package is fragile and is monitored by displaying the Drop-n-Tell® label, placed on your package as a warning. The indicator can be placed on the package using the pre-applied self-adhesive tape, by removing the protective paper on the back.

The device comes in six G-force ranges from 5 to 100G and can be reset by the user up to 50 times (in the resettable or re-settable version). Each indicator comes with a 10x12.7cm self-adhesive force signaling label. The first will be attached to the shipping box and announces that a Drop (N) Tell device is present on your package, and the second is applied to the bill of lading, AWB or other shipping documents.

The indicator signals the impact on a single dimension (one of: left-right, up-down or front-back), so if you want to monitor the impact on all 3 dimensions, 3 indicators will be needed on each piece of equipment, located as in the diagram below:

Upon request, for critical applications where maximum assurance is desired that the indication provided by the indicator cannot be manipulated by users, we can also offer the non-resettable indicator version.

Drop-n-Tell® impact indicators were originally invented and patented by the American company Index Packaging, Inc. in the 1970s, but after the patent expired the product was assimilated by other manufacturers, while maintaining protection over the Drop-n-Tell® brand in favor of the same American manufacturer. The impact indicators offered by us are manufactured by Shockindicator Enterprise Co. in Taiwan, which maintains the original shape and specifications of the patented product (patent no. 3,623,449).

Drop'n'Tell resettable indicators are available in 6 variants, with different sensitivity depending on how fragile the equipment is:

• 5G - Very sensitive equipment
• 10G - Sensitive/fragile equipment
• 15G - Fragile equipment
• 25G - Electronic equipment
• 50G - Rugged electronic equipment
• 100G - Heavy duty equipment
